PAPRI has been implementing development projects since its inception. Already it implemented many projects. Present implementing projects are given below:

03.Project Name: Promoting Rights for Persons with Disabilities (PRPD)

Goal: Awareness rising on Welfare Ordinance 2001 for promoting rights of Persons with disability in education, information and communication as policy issue.
Target people: Handicapped persons
Working Area: Belabo and Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi district.
Donor: Center for Disability In Development

Main Activities
Awareness Meeting with community people;
Advocacy and lobbing;
Providing PRT and assistive devices;
Referral services;
Handicapped students’ inclusion in schools;
Formation and functioning of Disability Friends Club (DFC);
Skill training;
Credit support;
Form and nursing Local Ambassador (LAM) forum of the persons with disabilities etc.

04. Project Name: Nippon Volunteer Support (NVS) High School Project

Mainstream education is one of the major focused areas of the organization. PAPRI is implementing different educational programs in its operational areas. Batiband is a village of Narayanpur Union under Narsingdi district, where educational facilities especially at the higher secondary level were scarce. Therefore, many students especially girls were not in a position to have secondary education. As a result, a significant number of students would drop out after completion of primary education, and the girls were the worse sufferers who had to stop their study forever and embrace the fate of early marriage. Under these circumstances, PAPRI proposed for fund to SHAPLA NEER to establish a high school in the village. It was benevolent of SHAPLA NEER to convince Nippon Volunteer Support, Japan to provide fund for the school.


Goal

Quality of education and learners' entrance to secondary education will be enhanced in Narayanpur and Shallabad Union under Belabo Upazila of Narsingdi district.


Objectives

PAPRI established NVS High School in 2003 with assistance from Nippon Volunteer Support, Japan. At present (April 2009), a total of 466 students are studying at the school. The High School staff includes 16 teachers and 2 officials.

05. Project Name: Empowerment of the Poor, Ultra Poor & Poor Handicapped in Narsingdi district through Micro-Credit Support

To boost up PAPRI's Credit Program, a request was made to the Embassy of Japan through Shapla Neer for financial assistance. The Embassy of Japan responded positively and provided fund to PAPRI in order to disburse soft loan to the beneficiaries in the working areas.


Objective

To empower the Poor, Ultra Poor and Poor Handicap people by increasing their income, working opportunity and raising their social status through providing adequate micro-credit support and skill development training as well as counseling and awareness-raising session.


Plan of Operation

Altogether 1200 beneficiaries are planned to be provided with a total of Tk. 62,25,329/-. Categories of the beneficiaries will be ultra-poor, poor and poor handicap. The credit support will be provided for the following four trades:



The poor people are hoped to be equipped with knowledge through discussions that would help them decide for their own development taking into account their economical and social needs. Their awareness about health and personal hygiene will be raised so as to enable them to prevent physical as well as economical sufferings caused by diseases. Emphasis will also be given to collective efforts of the poor disadvantaged people contributing to peace and social harmony.

06. Project Name: Micro Credit

Main objectives of PAPRI’s Micro-Credit program are to generate income and employment opportunities of the target people.
Two types of loans are provided to beneficiaries:

  1. Micro finance
  2. Micro Enterprise.

Target people: Hardcore poor and poor people in Narsingdi district.
Working area: Belabo, Raipura, Manohardi, Shibpur, Narsingdi Sador Upazila. Number of Unit Offices: 10.
Fund: Own fund of PAPRI
Loan trades: Rickshaw/Van (RV); Crop Cultivation (CC); Cattle Rearing (CR), Small Business (SB) and Handicrafts.

07. Project Name: Basic computer training

PAPRI has taken this program since 2009. The computer skill training is being provided to young citizens especially adolescent girls where poor families are given priority.

Goal: Poverty eradication of the poor families through creating income generating opportunities
Target people: Adolescent girls, Handicapped people & Young Boys.
Working Area: Raipura & Belabo Upazila of Narsingdi district
Donor: PAPRI own fund
Project Duration: March 2009 to till
Activity of the project

Facilities of training centre Nature of work

Trainees are invited through PAPRI’s staff‘s to apply with fill up application form. A pre set committee selects the trainees through written test and viva-voce. An orientation is provisioned at inauguration day. A final evolution system is in the course. All passed trainees are awarded with a certificate.

08. Project Name: Acid Survivors Support Network for prevention and Better inclusion

Acid violence is a new heinous and tragic violence in the country; it is the state of Acid violence is a new heinous and tragic violence in the country; it is the state of throwing acid (Chemical substance- H2so4, HNo3) on human body. Mainly acid is thrown on face, neck and also other parts of the body. Acid burns skin, flesh sometime bone also. As a result victims lose their original beauty and create ugly shape. The victims are psychologically scattered from society and exploited from society by socio-economic form. Mainly women are mostly affected though few are male and children. To mainstreaming victims through providing psychological therapy, medical support, legal support as well as inclusion in income generating activities by forming their Network is the objective of the project

09. Project Name: APARAJITA project (Gender and Development project)

PAPRI has made a partnership with international NGO Steps Towards Development (Steps) at the aim to Strengthening movement to advance women rights and gender equality responding to violence against women and womens political participation. The key objectives are;

  1. Promoting human rights
    • Reducing incidences of violence against women including domestic violence
    • Reducing incidents of early marriage
    • Reducing sexual harassments
    • Encouraging prevent of Dowry
  2. Increasing women political participation in local and national government and also private
  3. Gender responsive Governance in government and non government

Major activities:
Awareness raising, Campaign, Advocacy, Training and Action oriented activities In this connection PAPRI has implementing project OPORAJETA. This project is designed for gender balance, human rights and good governance. Technical supported by: Steps towards Development (Steps) Working area: Belabo upazila in Narsingdi district Target beneficiaries are Women.

10.Project Name: Adolescent girls Development program

Adolescent girls Development is PAPRI own program. PAPRI running this project with foreign fund or and/own fund. Through this program, adolescent girls aged 11-18 organized into group. Each group form with 20-25 girls in a locality. They are provided with awareness on social issues, national important days, life skill improvement training, and reproductive health so on.
Working area: Belabo and Raipura upazila in Narsingdi district
Target group: Adolescent girls
Objectives: To create income and employment opportunities as well as good health for the adolescent girls at the aim to women empowerment.
Major activities: Group formation, Conduct group meeting, Reproductive health training, skill training on IGAs and leadership, awareness raising on social problems and health issues.

11. Project Name: Training and Capacity Building

PAPRI has developed a training cell to organize and conduct internal/external training for staff, beneficiaries and outsiders. It also sells training for individuals and other organizations.

12. Project Name: Leprosy and Skin Disease Control

PAPRI had made an agreement with government’s health department of Raipura Upazila for leprosy and skin diseases control in the area. A health technician of Upazila Health Department sits at PAPRI Head Office in Narayanpur twice a week (Saturday and Tuesday) and visits patients. Beneficiaries include people from all walks of life.

13. Project Name: Cow Breeding

PAPRI had made collaboration with government livestock department of Belabo upazila under Narsingdi district. An artificial insemination centre was set at PAPRI Head office premises jointly. One technician of government livestock department is providing high yielding variety ox’s semen to local variety cow every working day, on an average 50 cows is having insemination per day.

14. Project Name: Children Education Program through Community Mobilization [CEPCM]
